Best Books of the Year Lists

Interesting lists. Both contain many books I hadn't yet known of, and a couple I'd previously been intrigued by, but none I feel compelled to read soon. That is, except "Exit West" and "Ghachar Gochar", which I read earlier this year.

I guess by default, those two would be at the top of my personal "Best Books of 2017" list. If that was to be the case, thankfully they were both great reads. For me, "Exit West" is a truly great book that I think will stand the test of time. "Ghachar Gochar" was a great read that I think will settle bit in Randy's List into the status of being a Very Good book.

Of the books I have not yet to read, I'm most interested in "Sing, Unburied, Sing" but more perhaps because I'm more interested in reading anything by author Jesmyn Ward than because I feel compelled this particular book.

@JazzyRandy have you read the Broken Earth trilogy by N.K. Jemisin? If not, I can recommend it.
Looks like something I might enjoy. But YIKES, 512 pages! And it's a trilogy with followups of 448 and 460? That's a large committment and I'm frightened. But, the synopsis and reviews make me a little excited to get into it.

I'll check out the first chapter at the library and see if I can slot the first one in during the first third of the year.

Thanks.
