We watched it live in Luzern, Switzerland in an English-style pub. We were the closest thing to British in the whole place, beside the beer. Afterward we watched to US vs. Sweden World Ice Hockey finals with a bunch of stunning Swedish ladies.Making this thread, but I thought we already had it.
Anywho, I am spending the better part of the afternoon having scones and tea and watching a repeat of the royal wedding. I probably should be wearing a hat, though.
My middle child loves reading, music, and television. A young teen who likes those ... whowouldathunk?
Looking for something appropriate she could lite-binge on, I introduced her to classic 60s television with I Dream of Jeannie. I'd loved it as a child and figured she might, too. She devoured that series, asking me questions about the show that I couldn't begin to answer.
Trying to come up with something for this school season, I had her try Bewitched. It was a hit, but she lulled in season 2. Thinking she might not be enjoying Bewitched as much as Jeannie, I watched the first two episodes of The Beverley Hillbillies with her. T.o.r.t.u.r.e. I immediately deleted the other handful of episodes of TBH. That one did not age well. She went back to Bewitched.
60’s TV is tricky. Some of it doesn’t hold up very well. I put TBH and Bewitched in that category: loved ‘em then, can’t watch ‘em now.My middle child loves reading, music, and television. A young teen who likes those ... whowouldathunk?

If she likes Jeannie, she might like That Girl or Green Acres. The writing and acting still look great to me. Also the early seasons of Get Smart.
