Music Gourmets Presents 60 Years of Great Music - 1970

God these last few years are tough! I literally listened out so many of these albums it's bringing back so many memories I'm afraid of what this may unleash and get bogged down to even pick one. This one though, brings back such a strong memory, I couldn't pass. Up till about 1970, the Monkees...

The Pretty Things ~ S.F. Sorrow Discovered this gem after running into y'all bunch of lala/MG/Boomers. Thank you all for showing me I hadn't discovered all music by age of 20. (In my defense, when it was released I was barely interested in listening to "I'm a Believer" when climbing trees...

So glad you picked this or I for sure would have. I've probably listened to all Beatles albums over 200 times each and I'm trying not to exaggerate here. This.is.my. favorite. (with Abbey Road a close second) Why didn't I rush and pick it? EDIT: Well that didn't work out like planned...

Well this year has been tough, because I wanted to wait like many here do. It forces you to get serious. Do I go with the obvious choice for me?(Hard Day's Night or anything Beatles) Historical choice for me?(Stones,Animals or Motown appear on the scene, Classic Dylan) Heartstring choice?(Glen...

That song alone might make an argument for being a better album. Definitive early Beatles original. A flip side to boot. But we're still in '63..........

Saw him in Tucson in 2012 and though he was clearly in midstage Alzheimers, he would take off on a guitar solo in the middle of a song and extend it for minutes on end, the band would let him go and every jaw in the house would drop. I'm not kidding, it was UNREAL how good it was.

The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan (Release date: May 27, 1963) I was a tot at the time, knew nothing of this. Not even a Dylan fan till the 90's. Now a die-hard. It's influence on music can't be overlooked though.

He would have been much happier with a $100 frozen pizza and a bottle of Annie Green Springs.
