Tippi is still with us.

Maybe she just planned ahead.
Who the hell am I thinking of, then. She was in Hitchcock's "Lifeboat". I guess not Tippi. Middle of Nowheresville, MD or DEL.

Lassie whispers her secret to Garry Moore on "I've Got a Secret" in the 1950s. Both of them confronted controversy in the 1950s, a time when I’ve been told that people weren’t so easily offended.

Garry Moore issued a statement of support for George Kaufman, was abruptly fired from CBS after people complained that he had opened a broadcast in December by proudly announcing that his show would be the only one that didn’t feature a performance of “Silent Night.” Moore also had to intervene when Henry Morgan was nearly fired from “Secret” for making a joke that implied that cigarettes caused cancer.

As for “Lassie,” CBS had to field a string of complaints from viewers who were offended by an episode that showed a group of puppies. They found puppies offensive because the sight of puppies implied that dogs have sex.
