most jazz (sorry JR)
country
hip hop
rap
shmaltzy stuff
extreme forms of metal

like:
classic rock
classical
prog
folk
a cappella stuff
intrumental
new wave
alternative
big band
etc...

I mean stuff like Lawrence Welk show music, "Havin' My Baby", anything overly cheesy.

If it's got killer melody to my ear, I can overlook lyrics. So I should re-define shmaltz as something schmaltzy with bad music, lousy hook, whatever.

I've listened to alternative and indie rock music for so long, that to me all mainstream pop music is schmaltz. This is why I bring my own music and earphones in grocery and other stores that play music over PA systems.

IKEA was piping in some definite crap yesterday. One was by Hanson.
 
I just added a Spotify playlist to my Document Records thread. In the future, I'll try to do that for all of my projects here.
