Album cover photo game.

OK, MG. Let's get creative and start going through your photo files on your computer.

The premise: Post an album cover and then post a photo of yours or one you find on line that is a close/near fit to the cover. Either same view, shortly before or after, maybe? Also, feel free to respond to other people's posts with your own photos that you think would work! Let's see what you've got! I'll start:

p.s.: the first person to post a picture of "Animals" and a stock photo of Battersea Power Station will be ejected from the game with extreme prejudice. Axo will be the strong arm of the law here. :)

If that's the one near Boone, NC, I've been there. They open it up twice a year and a ton of volunteers dress up and make it a party. My sweetheart went there as a kid, before it went under.
Cool to know! I assume there is more to it than just the yellow brick road?

This is the link where we bought our tickets. I think Axo's is from a third party who must rent out the park for events.

There isn't much "theme park" left. There's a wonderful museum of Oz regalia & there's Dorothy's house, which has both before- and after-tornado scenarios. Actors & Actresses are stationed along the yellow brick road so you can have a picture taken with the tin man, the witch, etc. And there are several of each character roaming around other areas, although they seem to be careful not to have two of the same character in any one area. There are some fountains and waterfalls along the yellow brick road which are about semi-operational. And while, for instance, the balloon ride is no longer operative, they have a couple of the gondolas from the ride on site for viewing. There are a handful of vendors selling memorabilia and souvenirs.

I would say one doesn't go for an amazing experience, one goes for the kitch. Beech Mtn is lovely, the volunteers are very enthusiastic and add all the energy you need. I think if you stay after dark, there's a party in town on a big open field, but we headed to another town for dinner. If you're within a couple hours' drive, I'd say stop in. I wouldn't book a trip from Florida just to see it.
