Just what I need, another source of new music, right? o_O

Yesterday when I looked up Front Country for the IBMA post, I discovered Bandcamp (www.bandcamp.com). Doubtless many of you already know about this site. It offers promotion and merchandising for artists with a sustainable economic model. Looks like they have all genres and both old and new music. For Front Country, I downloaded an EP and bought a t-shirt in one easy session. There's also a nifty app to find and play music directly.

I'm Ojai Sam over there too (https://bandcamp.com/sdiesq). You are welcome to follow me, not that I have any idea where I'm going. Here's a Spotify playlist for whatever I find. I'll make it collaborative, so feel free to chime in:

Well, since you have done the honors, I will post a handful of bands/artists that I have either found, or been able to find the music when I could not find it anywhere else.

Blithe Field is but one of them.

https://blithefield.bandcamp.com/

I have a physical copy of Beautiful Wave '74, which (for some reason) I cannot stop liking.

Interesting record! Thanks, Axo. I'm developing more of an ear for experimental music.

Curtis Stewart ~ Of Colors

Holds his audiences “spellbound” with his “warm, clear sound, sparkling rhythmic energy, soulful improvisation and prodigious technique.” Special mention from JazzTimes, and Downbeat Magazines, STRAD Magazine calls Curtis “a gem of string player, among the excellent musicians…whose swinging flights were among the most memorable.” Works with Henry Threadgill, ICE, Jason Moran, Stevie Wonder etc.

I didn't even know this was on Bandcamp, but here 'tis. I have a physical copy (CD) that somebody sent to me, thinking I would like it.

I like it muchly. It's a sleeper/keeper.

^ Did you ship that to me, Sam? I just received your recent shipment via the Boom and noticed extra CDs in it, and they reminded me of the way I received the Curtis Stewart CD.

Oh, and thanks for the OR:BSB and this other one. It looks very interesting.:)

Sawtelle - The Perfect Search (2017)

The lead singer is the son of Mrs. Ojai's BFF. He writes everything, plays lead and sings. This is a fine debut album. Reminds me a bit of Tower of Power's horn-driven rock.

I just acquired this CD and then found it here on Bandcamp.
There are some timeless classics here, including Canadian Tim Clement's disembodied, Beautiful Lady and the mesmerizing 18:33 minute opus, Druck, from German electronic music pioneer Klaus Schulze's "Richard Wahnfried" project -- which includes performances from Shulze, former Santana percussionist Michael Shireve and his famous sidekick guitarist fictionally named here as "Karl Wahnfried," as well as Ashra guitarist Manuel Gottsching

There is much to like about this ambient recording. At times, it is tribal ambient, and at others dark-ambient. I thought @Nickyboy might particularly like Klaus Schulze's "Richard Wahnfried - Druck" project composition, which concludes the recording. My favorites are Track 4: Danna & Clement - Sunrise West, and Track 5: Sanjiva - Four Dimensional Interaction.

The other consideration is, Nick already has it, and will be introducing it under S.
