Time for a classic

Frank Sinatra ~ Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (1966)

Maybe not the most original choice, but "One-Take Frank" figuratively jumped onto my waiting turntable this evening.

Here is my latest Spotify playlist. I started with the two sadly out-of-print “Time-Life Treasury of Christmas” collections and added a lot of similar material. Occasionally Spotify let me down, so I had to substitute similar versions: for example, Eddy Arnold had to fill in for Jim Reeves on “Silent Night”.

This is a work in progress.

On Christmas day, my sis-in-law kept declaring that she hated chorale music and repeatedly grabbed my tablet and turned the music off.:(

Hey Thanksgiving's over (granted we're still in November). Zeeba's holiday listening begins :)

When I was younger, I loved Christmastime so much (not just the presents but decorations, shows, definitely the music) that there was an extreme letdown after the holidays, so I would listen to Christmas music on record privately into January (and one year even February). A little much in retrospect...but still (as you guys know) love the music.

On a separate non-musical note, one year, my parents couldn't get their act together so our Christmas tree (artificial and I have vowed throughout my married life to never have a tree that wasn't live and 25 yrs in still going strong) didn't get taken down until mid-February. In retrospect, I must say to my parents - "C'mon guys!"

Sirius XM has been really pushing "Eric Clapton's first Christmas album" with stories from Clapton about what he loves about Christmas. Have not listened or been much interested in spinning (but ultimately will probably listen).

More interested in checking out John Legend's new Christmas album - at least an artist at his peak

That's what the one I posted is from. Based on that, I don't think I am going to like the rest of it.
I think SiriusXm has doubled the number of Xmas stations this year.
