Coincidentally, a couple years ago I was long-distance dating a woman and we were meeting at a town in between us. As part of the meeting instructions I texted her "...and be sure to bring your passport, a screwdriver, some invisible ink and a ripe melon. And you DO know the lyrics to La Vie En Rose, don't you?"

You're right, there are a million covers. Few even come close to Ms. Piaf's original. This one was unexpectedly satisfying.

Lauper would be the last person on earth I would think of to cover that song, but yes, that really is nicely done. Thanks for finding it.
 
Sam just reminded me of this song, which I remember from my tormented yout.

So, I looked it up, and this is the rendition I remember.
