The Encyclopedia of Modern Music

All right, I did NOT buy the full set which costs several hundred dollars, but I DID buy the digital version which, while abridged (3000+ of the full set 20,000 entries). Why buy a book (even a digital version) with band histories that could be found elsewhere on Wiki and with album ratings similar to a AMG system? I dunno - but it's kind of fun to flip through and search on
Downside: it was last updated 2011 so missing the last decade.
It also originated in the UK so though fairly exhaustive gives a Brit bent - not a bad thing.
