Random Food Thoughts

Hi, new here, so wasn't sure where to comment- this looked as good as anywhere... Born & raised in Albuquerque, NM and grew up on green chile. I didn't realize until I went to Washington state to help my parents how different NM cooking is different from Mexican food! More chile and less tomatillo and cilantro (which I hate!). And sopapillas are fried fluffy and served as a side bread, elsewhere it is usually fried flat and served as a dessert with cinnamon or strawberries. Tradition here is to bit off the corner and pour honey inside. After folks were gone, I returned and my taste buds again do a happy dance!

Mrs. Ojai and I went there a lot as a break from Mexican food. Alas, Sonora Cafe closed many years ago. :(

"However, the narcotics involved in the suspected sale were later determined to be dried pinto beans," the court explains.
To that end, because the initially alleged crime literally amounted to a pile of beans, the court says the government does not really have any actual reason to suggest that Chavez's deferred action status "has been revoked or is expected to be revoked." And that means his deportation is far from happening – if it ever comes at all.

My son in Denver messaged me a picture of the Irish Soda Bread he main this weekend - was very proud, but realized I better get my act together and make some myself tonight. Very easy to make but boy what a mess LOL...luckily my wife will be out playing tennis tonight so she would see how the figurative sausage is made :)
