Warner Brothers did this a while back with regard to their (now) insensitive stereotypes of African Americans when short were released on DVD (not sure if they did it anywhere else).
I think it is detrimental to simply sweep something that is now rightly considered incorrect and non-PC under the rug. Better to put a disclaimer at the beginning and say "this was considered OK at the time. Now it is not, and here is why" with text explaining why. If you hide something, people who don't know better can't learn from the past. Let them know what was said. And why we condemn it today. Educate!
