Random TV Thoughts

Sure we have a thread about TV/Internet shows, but what if ya have just one of those random "Boob Tube" thoughts?
Like so:

As I was listening to The Ventures, the "Theme from Hawaii Five-O" came on (which I've only realized now is slightly different in the 2010s remake listed as Hawaii Five-0 - hmmm). I remember as a kid actually getting jazzed up by the opening of that show - the video of the surfer, the music, the quick camera shots, hula dancers, close up of actors. Looking back on that and on the original theme of Mission: Impossible with the fuse burning amidst scenes from the upcoming show, man, two opening TV segments that really got one pretty excited/pumped up. I was young and really didn't watch the shows themselves until syndication much later, but at the time, thought both must be the coolest shows.

Here’s one of my all-time favorite TV themes from the height of the secret agent craze. CBS retooled the long running British series “Danger Man” as “Secret Agent” and gave it a killer Johnny Rivers theme to boot.

And the original “Danger Man“ theme was outstanding in itself. Edwin Astley’s catchy harpsichord fueled romp ran under the opening credits for every episode, even here in the US.

I haven't watched Barney Miller in over 30 years. The set for that show looked really run down and depressing. I guess they were trying to capture what NYC was like in the 70s.

One of my dad's favorite shows, and, like you, I remember moments but so much were too "grown up" for me. I revisited several years ago - really enjoy. What a kooky cast - Wojo, Yamana, Fish, Dietrich (the episode where Dietrich frustrates a lie detector operator by saying he's from outer space was hilarious). Another favorite is when a panhandler is picked up and it's discovered he's a wealthy ex-stockbroker who's making as much begging.
