RIP - Music related

Ol' T hit the scene with his journalistic character sketches masquerading as songs. He jumped the shark years ago, but in his heyday no one captured the lives of ordinary folk better. Here's one example:

Here's the foundation.

Townshend posted an image of a rainbow on Instagram with the caption: “Full Moon. Rainbow. Always a sign. Charlie Watts wept at Keith Moon’s funeral. I wish I was capable of such tears today. Instead, I just want to say goodbye. Not a rock drummer, a jazz drummer really, and that’s why the Stones swung like the Basie band!! Such a lovely man. God bless his wife and daughter, and I’ll bet the horses will miss him too.”

I will miss Phil's plangent commentary and sense of history. Somehow he seemed a lot older than he really was.

Years ago, Phil decided to clear out some accumulated CD's by selling a "pig in a poke" (my term, not his) grab bag. If I recall it was 50 CD's for 50 bucks. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality, with artists in all styles from Cindy Bradley to the Trio Givone.
