I agree! Look for one of the deluxe editions discussed here:Elvis Presley - From Elvis in Memphis (1969)

This album gets more attention as the pinnacle of the later third of The King's career (and it's good), but if I had to choose the best album from this era it would be That's The Way It Is from the next year.

Review: Elvis Presley, "That's The Way It Is: Deluxe Editions" - The Second Disc
In 1992, American voters were asked to vote on not one, but two, matters of national importance: who should be the next President of the United States – and which image of Elvis Presley should grace a postage stamp. Bill Clinton won the former with roughly 43% of the popular…theseconddisc.com

Just fantastic!
I’ve been working my way through the Tommy James Roulette box but haven’t gotten to this one yet. So far, I do have to say that his albums improved greatly over the years and work far better than I expected.Tommy James and the Shondells - Cellophane Symphony (1969)

Not sure why a greatest albums/core collection that allows greatest hits/comps would not choose a nice Tommy James greatest hits instead of this wildly inconsistent album. That being said it is quite the interesting failure with James getting more socially conscious in his lyrics - some worthwhile tracks like the trippy "Changes" and the psychedelic instrumental title tracks; does include the great pop song "Sweet Cherry Wine". Too many unremarkable tracks (or goofy ones like "Papa Rolled His Own").

Jack’s singing voice may be an acquired taste, but this album has aged pretty well over the years. Listen for George Harrison playing under the pseudonym “L’Angelo Misterioso”, the same alias he used for the Cream song “Badge”.
I’m with you, Zeeb. For some reason post British Invasion male vocalists from the UK generally don’t appeal to me while I really like most of the female singers. Perhaps it’s because the women of that era sang with greater energy.Scott Walker - Scott 4 (1969)

Ah, the inevitable Scott Walker appearance - was much bigger in the UK so actually thought he’d appear earlier (at the least with Scott 3). Some adore Walker’s style/ baroque pop. He’s never really appealed to be though I must admit the material he chooses is fascinating.
I filed this one under “The Emperor’s New Clothes” years ago.Alexander "Skip" Spence - Oar (1969)
