What albums do you play in their entirety but out of order?

This thread is hereby entitled "The Al Pacino Thread."

The suggestion behind this thread is that our very own lpfreak made the following comment:

I always play that one side 2 first.

...to which I inanely replied:

That would make an interesting thread: "What albums do you play in their entirety but out of order?"

I have a couple albums like that, that I can think of.

Yes, it would be interesting for both of the days it would last.:thumbsdown:

To be fair to mrfreak, his album was:

Dire Straits - Making Movies (1980)

These are the first two albums that I can readily think of:

Rare Bird ~ As Your Mind Flies By (1969)

The reason for this is, I originally owned this album on cassette. It had the epic "Flight" as the first part, with the individual songs later. This is reversed on the LP.

Spooky Tooth ~ The Last Puff (1970)

The reason here is, Side Two with "Down River" is unbeatable. I dare you to talk me out of it.

Every time you play an album out of order, the artist cries and the sound engineer eats a puppy.
Considering how often the second side of Abbey Road is played at the expense of the first, one can see why there was no feral puppy problem in Britain post-1969.

I was going to go a step further with my analysis, but this whole insight just makes me terribly sad. :(

This seems it would be more of a digital thing. When I play vinyl, I tend not to bounce the tonearm around.

My reasoning for the Dire Straits...side 1 is SO strong that I'm unable to really enjoy side 2 after it, and "Les Boys" is an extremely weak album ender.

Related nitpick: When I drag an album worth of songs from Windows Explorer to Windows Media Player, it rearranges the songs to alphabetical order. Dammit, I wanted them in album order!

Aside from that, the only one I really listen to out of order is:

Ray Charles - Genius Loves Company

I always skip the Willie Nelson track.

Edit: Oh, you said "in entirety." I'm going to leave this in here, otherwise I'd have nothing to contribute since Abbey Road was already mentioned.

I can readily change the rules if it will keep the thread alive.

Yes, I admit it. I'm a personal thread whore.

No albums, actually, but I've been known to play "The Magnificent Seven" twice.

There are several versions. Please advise which album is the version of which you listen. [<-- That's some constipated grammar for you, and I don't even know care whether it is correct.]
Thank you for preserving the thread and making it last for more than the two days projected.
