The Cleveland Orchestra (Pierre Boulez, cond.) - Stravinsky: Petrouchka, Le Sacre du Printemps (1992)
Other than the composer himself, no one understood the challenging music of Igor Stravinsky better than Pierre Boulez. This album was rightly included in the big Deutsche Grammophon "DG 120" anniversary box.
Young Love was the first of two albums released by this pair and the title cut was their only hit, reaching #20. Too bad, because they matched up well as a duet.
Nat died in 1988 at age 58 but Connie still appears regularly on the Opry. Sic transit gloria mundi.
