Another posthumous release from a European radio archive, this one the Westdeutscher Rundfunk in Germany. Impeccable sound complements a strong performance. Ella is backed here by an outstanding group of musicians, including Joe Pass, Roy Eldridge and Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis. The repertoire here avoids the novelty tunes that plagued some of her later shows.
