You know what, I'll use both. I hate having to make choices, which is why I'm not really a multiple headphone guy, but they both offer things that the other doesn't.

I noticed tonight how awesome my Schiit stack and Senn HD600 headphones sound. I don't like how mood dependent it is, though.

My perception of sound quality is affected by my mood. When I'm in a very good mood, my audio system sounds amazing.
My dismay is because I cannot WILL myself into a very good mood.

I am such a dummy. For some reason, my Schiit Modi Multibit 2 DAC likes one of the USB-C ports on my Mac mini more than the others. I had already discovered this a long time ago, but when I moved to my current apartment I completely forgot. It sounded fine, but with what I now realize was kind of muffled and dead-sounding sound quality when I set up my system a year ago in my new apartment.
I had to do some rearranging and just randomly plugged the DAC into a different port and the sound is airier and much more holographic. This puts the sound quality of my Sennheiser HD600 headphones and Schiit stack much more ahead of the Airpods Max I also own.
