Questions about the forum software

I like that the software default to a "click to expand" option when we quote longer posts. I'd rather click than scroll for ever and ever and ever...

I'm using Chrome to access this site. I have to log in every time. I check the box for "Stay logged in" but it's all for naught.

It seems like the first few times I accessed the site I had some problems with cookies, which was only fixed by deleting them. Do you suppose I put my neck in the noose when I did that?

Or is this because I've turned my back on the partisans and registered as Independent the past couple of elections?

It's not a giant problem, more of a consistent annoyance -- much like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Sorry you are having issues, Toe. Did you disable cookies for good?

Chrome always remembers me, but then being memorable is not always a good thing. :nunja:

I have cookies enabled. And for good measure I have [*.]musicgourmets.org in my "allow" list.

I stumbled on the name of the forum software somewhere in this category. I'll find it again and do some googling. I'm sure it's nothing hard to conquer.

It's Xenforo 1.5.14. I'll ask Kai The Master, our computer guru.

Something just occurred to me, so I tested. I was able to close the tab, reopen a new one and am logged in automatically. It's only when I close the browser entirely that I lose context. There's a setting in the cookies area of Chrome about dumping local data when the browser window is closed. I'll do a little research on that setting.
