Because Mrs. Ojai and I both worked full time in our office, we wound up eating breakfast out a lot. After we bought a home in West Los Angeles, Junior’s Deli became our regular hang out. It was a huge operation with over 80 employees and a full scale bakery.
By the time we got there, Mr. Saul had passed the business on to his two sons. The food and service were both excellent for many years, although it was clear that the brothers did not get along. Eventually the quality dropped, the restaurant was sold twice and then went out of business. There are more details in Mark’s post from earlier this week.
Over the years, there were three restaurants in the greater Los Angeles area that became part of our lives. We have now survived all three of them.
