I was a big fan of Law & Order and its iterations. For the past year, I've slowly gotten into Criminal Minds. First it was snippets of shows. Then an occasional show (or most of a show) as time permitted. Now that we've had a DVR again for a few months, I've recorded a couple of random shows a week and watched when I had time.

Lately, I've realized the show is being syndicated in order. Well, not quite in order but individual seasons are being shown in order. This week, maybe season 9, next week, maybe season 7. So, I recorded most of season 11 and when I had time, I watched in order. Cool beans!

Now I'm watching season 9 in order. It's entertaining, even when it tries too hard and ends up being overly sensational ... even when it tries too hard to show us the recurring characters are real people with real life problems ... even when another deus ex machina shows up to solve a case and save a victim's life at the last minute.

I have REALLY gotta check out Fargo
I loved the book The Handmaiden's Tale so want to see the movie

However, I'm still stuck at various points with Game of Thrones, the Americans, and House of Cards. Too many quality shows to watch

Fargo is great, I've only seen two episodes this season, but have loved the first two.

Handmaid's Tale is good so far, so very timely for and adaptation of a 30+ year old book. It's definitely being structured and tweaked to be a series not mini-series so it won't follow exactly, but it's staying on the message and point so far.

Americans was great this season, very different from the past, more subtle and internal struggles than espionage.

I'm anxiously waiting for new seasons of Peaky Blinders and Taboo. (Tom Hardy rocks in this.)

Just finished Fargo, thought other years have been better.
The Americans
Last season for The Strain
Fear the Walking Dead
Humans

The Doctor Blake Mysteries

This is the current favorite of me and Mrs. Ojai. It's an Australian series set in the late 1950's featuring the cases of Dr. Lucien Blake, police surgeon of Ballarat. The good doctor, after suffering the loss of his wife and child in Malaya during WWII, returns home to take over his father's practice and solve mysteries for the cops on the side. Blake's cantankerous character and complex relationships with his father's secretary and the police commissioner make for good drama as well as well-plotted whodunits.

Great theme song, too!
