Thoughts:
a) surprised that even now 600+ songs later we're getting songs that came up in the 3000s before the re-jiggering of the list but Duffy, The Cure and Camera Obscura (if memory serves me correct) made huge jumps
b) The minimalist piece (28+ minutes - eek) of "Jesus' Blood..." where a repetitive verse of a homeless man singing is looped with the slow addition of strings was interesting....and too long
c) always intrigued when cover versions make the list. The Scissor Sisters electro-pop version of "Comfortably Numb" (the original will certainly appear much higher up) was not my cup of tea but it was definitely different and curiously creepy
d) Kick and Push and Kick and Push...and Coast
e) I've spoken before about really not getting into music much until junior year in high school when I fell hard, but my aunt would buy me various albums as presents for holidays. Many of them were big hits like the soundtracks for Grease or Saturday Night Live. One curious purchase was Blondie's Plastic Letters (and I've loved Blondie Since) so was delighted to hear the opening track "Denis" (which of course is a remake of Randy & The Rainbow's "Denise")
f) "Supernaut" is a great Sabbath song - oh those guitars
g) I really like "Drive" - aces as far as 80s pop ballads go. That and Morricone's opener to "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly" would rank better on my personal list but not surprised at their placement here
