Audiophile Thread

Edit: I deleted the prior message, as it was an orphan without the photo. Please excuse. I should've told you.
We've been through this before, Axo. Straighten up and fly right!

And I deleted my comment because Sneaky Boots Axo posted a follow-up question before I noticed. Grrr.

Have you Sam? I would think your emails would be the apotheosis of circumspection.

Michael Cohen's, on the other hand....

Good judgment is the result of experience.
Experience is the result of bad judgment.

Everything looks different blown up to poster size. :scared:

Wired headphones are having their quartz moment.

Author is comparing wired headphones to mechanical watches. I see his viewpoint, but I think it's premature. There are too many problems still with wireless headphones. Most important to me, the sound quality is not there, and I wonder if it'll ever be. I tried several different Bluetooth earphones and ended going back to wired earphones that work with the Lightning port on iPhones.

I think all it will take is a few exploding lithium batteries in the ears of people (which has already happened, but is curiously under-reported in the press) and wireless won't seem so great to people who don't care about the sound quality aspect.

I also hate that the batteries are non-replaceable. Apple offers a battery replacement program for AirPods that is only slightly cheaper than buying new ones. Once batteries go flat in a year or two on other brands, you have to buy new earphones.

I guess I don't think the author of the linked article is wrong, really. I just wish he was.
