Audiophile Thread

I am trying out a Oyaide (O-Yah-EEE-Day) USB cable and it is much, much superior to the AudioQuest cable. The presentation is similar to the old Schiit PYST cable I've been using for years, but with better clarity and better bass and warmth. It manages to be brighter than the Schiit cable, but unlike the AQ cable, there is no brittleness.

The Oyaide cable i got was their Class B, which is widely used by DJs. I swear, it's like they tuned the cable to be punchy and clear for the electronic music played in clubs. I have no idea how you would tune a cable that is designed to transmit 1s and 0s. Makes no sense to me.

This review of the Class A makes mention of a lengthy warm up time for USB cables. What exactly is in a cable that needs to be warmed up? Sounds like mental burn in.

Just enjoy it for now.

Look for answers later. :judge:

I watched this closely and in its entirety today and it's brilliant at showing that every USB cable has its own sound. When you play a recording of a signal and an inverted version of the recording (from a different cable), they in theory should still cancel each other out (silence) if all cables pass the same signal. This video clearly shows they don't.

I'm now using an Oyaide Class A USB cable in my system. Without any supposed actual hardware or mental burn in, I can immediately discern that it is more detailed and less aggressive sounding than the Oyaide Class B cable.

I'm not sure whether I'll return the Class B cable or keep it for backup.

Keep it. You never know when you might want to hear from it, again.

The Class A was clearly superior, and it was evident within 2 minutes of using it.

I can always use my PYST USB cable as backup. I used it for years.
Holy schiit, holographics made an appearance in a big way. :D

Edit: let me be more clear. I'm talking about the imaging. The imaging just got 3D in a very big way, so much so that it made me laugh.
