This is the second album from Die Wilde Jagd, after his (in my opinion) phenomenal, self-titled debut. I can say right now that this album is going to be beyond the comfort zone for some listeners, but I think it's a beauty. It's also longer than it maybe has to be, but that's what the artist felt was appropriate. This is falls under the Berlin School of electronic music, but it is certainly not dance music. This is a combination of ambient, drone, field recordings, and repetitive motifs. This could be something you listen to with headphones in the dark, or just as easily as something you play in the background while you are banging out your latest novel on your old typewriter. There are lots of slow builds, especially in the opening track (apologies to RickB for the length of the first and last tracks), and often you find yourself thinking "this is the same thing over and over", but then you realize that it actually has changed. It's music for monasteries.
Try it. You just might like it.
