The Animals - Animalization (1966)

For my money, no white guy sings better blues than Eric Burdon. Maybe the dirty air of Newcastle gave him that extra whiff of authenticity. This album was the American version of Animalisms. Like Yesterday And Today, Animalization benefited from the addition of hit singles like "Don't Bring Me Down" and "See See Rider". "Inside - Looking Out", derived from a prison work chant, may be the most terrifying love song ever recorded.

This album turned out to be the last hurrah for the original Animals. In fact Wiki shows us that the group had already begun to fracture:
Lyric of the day: "It's been two years since I last saw you. Something tells me you ain't been true." Ya think? o_O
