The upside is getting paid. 
P. P. S. had an ALJ's assistant contact my office this afternoon for tomorrow morning's hearing at 8:15, stating he wanted me to brief 1500 pages of new material. That would be 16 hours prior to the hearing. I will give all appropriate mea culpas tomorrow morning and respectfully request additional time, but something's got to give, and it's not my need for food, sleep, and preparation for my other hearings. I'm guessing he will make a move (that's like a motion, but more definitive) for a supplemental hearing, which is fine by me.
