Our Next Musical Venture?

Keeping things on track. It's time for the next album club pick:

Rotation to Pick the Weekly Album:
1) Zeeba Neighba
2) Axo
3) LP Freak
4) Unsom
5) Ojai
6) Nickyboy
7) Old Uncle Toe

Time to randomly generate a year from 1955-2017 for our next album picker, LPFreak!
On Monday, LP Freak will post our next album to listen collectively

LPFreak's year will be:

1996

Remember, selectors should feel free to pick rare albums or well-worn classics, any genre (pop, rock, soul, jazz, electronic) - a favorite of yours that you'd like others to play and discuss.

With the selection going out Friday afternoon, I often miss the invitation. By late afternoon Friday, I'm heads down into work, trying to finish up by 5:00 so I can meet the regulars at our watering hole. I generally have better things to do all weekend than look at the computer. So hopefully I get an alert or something on Monday that reminds me to look at it.

Does anyone else have a conflict with that day?

Also, @Zeeba Neighba -- maybe you could use the @-sign username in the post? It might send an extra alert to the week's selector.

Will definitely try this (or at least try to remember) OUT
And thanks Unsom for poking LPFreak :)

With the next pick, feel free to take a few days - but it's Unsom who chose very quickly last time so we might get one sooner than later

It seems like we had a conversation about it, but I can't recall and I'm too lazy to search for it. Is there a reason we stopped at 2017? 2018 is a perfectly good year. And now that we're half way through the year it seems like 2019 would be fair game too.

Although I haven't changed the year on the post, I actually do put 1955-2018 in the Random.org fields

1970? Why, nothing came out that year...

Oh, 1970! That's one fine year year for recordings. I would be honored. I will consider the usual and some unusual suspects. They are not prospects since they are from almost half a century ago.

I will make a selection, and then I need to bear down on the last four years of ONMV submissions, which I have clumsily neglected.

Man, it's time for this. Isn't it?

Freak hasn't dropped by in awhile - maybe by saying his name 3 times, we can bring him back like Beetlejuice :)

Just a note, We Are The World by U.S.A. for Africa is a single, so it's off limits.

I actually had the cassette which not only included that song but others including artists like Steve Perry, Huey Lewis and The Pointer Sisters
I of course bought it Bruce Springsteen's "Trapped" as it was the only way you could get that song at that time. Also has Prince's "4 the Tears in Your Eyes"
So, hey, he still could choose it :)
