Random Food Thoughts

That Friday's in Corpus Christi looks like the waiting lounge in a 1960s IBM office.
I've never been to any of those restaurant chains other than eating once at a Cracker Barrel once on a long road trip. I remember everything was white and covered with white sauce. And the kitschy, kountry look was annoying. But, the place was packed.

Never underestimate the power of biscuits and gravy and grits and tabasco sauce.

Didn't feel like cooking last night, so we got a pizza to go from our local market. For who knows what reason, they have begun brushing the crust when it comes out of their ovens with a fake garlic/butter/herb sauce. Absolutely disgusting smelling and tasting.
Next time we order one, gonna have to remember to tell them "none of that crust crap, please".

Yes.
Hmm. I've read and listened to to many reports that say the big problem isn't what fat and cholesterol you eat, but rather what your body naturally produces. My relatives are Swiss and eat ungodly amounts of fats every day and have absolutely zero problems with cholesterol. Why is that? I know people who say to eat the fat cap on roasts and chops as it is not only tasty, but good for you too. Are they right? I dunno.
Meh. For me, I will continue to eat fat-heavy dishes like fondue, but will avoid eating solid fat on roasts and steaks. I am still not sure who is right, but I think eating less solid fat can't be all that bad. But, you need some to lubricate your joints.

Fortunately you got that doctor's note for bone spurs. ;)
I didn't have time for none of that b.s.

They fingered my rectum, and touched my balls, while I turned my head and coughed, and I'm a better man for it. :elisabs:

As you know, that great American president Nixon (at least one standard deviation better than Trump) called off the police action in Vietnam.

At least, that's how I got my free pass.
