Random Food Thoughts

Puh....leeese. Yeah, it's not bad Tex-Mex. But it isn't near Mexican. Come to the Taconazo trailer in PROV. Amazing food and will only set you back about $4.
Yeah, there are taco carts and holes-in-the-wall that serve better Mexican food than TB.

Maybe they asked non-English speakers who confused biggest and best.

I made about 1 gallon of hot sauce this morning, after an 8 day mash ferment. Jalapenos, habaneros, serranos, garlic, pineapple. It is almost too hot for me. I am going to add more fruit next time and probably do a longer brine ferment instead of mash.

Went to a Cistercian abbey today to buy what has been touted as really high quality chocolate goodies. The nun's know their way around their chocolate kitchen! They also sell honey and jams from a nearby Trappist monastery. Unfortunately they were fresh out of bread. Good stuff!

Don’t nuns live in a convent?

Yeah. We had this conversation in the car. The bag they put our goodies into said it was an abbey (like the abbey Fraulein Maria was in in "The Sound of Music", right?). Maybe a convent is for sequestered nuns?
Time to go to my Century Dictionary!

At the Catholic school I went to, there was a church and a building housing nuns that was called a convent.

I called into Boston Public Radio today to talk with the hosts about how horrible green bean casserole is. They hosts ended up agreeing with me.

I hate green beans period. I hate them so much that I would have a psychogenic reaction to them and get an upset stomach.
