Random Food Thoughts

I am going to try this. I love historic recipes. They often turn out to be better than what you would expect. Let's see if this does.
For your sake, I hope this pans (ladles) out.

I still think it should have more ginger ale than beef broth, but I like watery beverages.

I tried it. Not bad, but not great either. If I had to have it again, I would serve it hot, like a bowl of consume, and add a slice of fresh ginger root to the pan while it heats up to give it more of a kick. Having tried it, I think you idea of adding more ginger ale than beef broth wouldn't work out right. Rather than having subtly ginger flavored beef broth, you would have oddly beefy flavored soda. I don't think that would be too appetizing, but your mileage may vary.

I really couldn't give half a sheet, anyway.

Ah so. It does go in the Bistro and not in the Bar.

...and No. Just, no. Bar lives do not matter.

I miss Norfolk. I miss the entire Tidewater area. It's a great area. Though I didn't live near the St Paul neighborhood, as a young black man in my early 20's, I spent more than a little bit of my time around there. I should make a trip and revisit all my Tidewater haunts.

I wish I could put my talents to good use and help revitalize the area, but that's impossible for a flea like me.
