Color me shocked: Domino's can't make it in Switzerland.

That's pretty damning, considering you can't get a decent pizza in Switzerland unless you are in Ticino.

I'm reading "The Devil In The White City" about the 1893 Chicago World's Fair and the serial killer operating in Chicago at the time. Among the dozens (hundreds?) of new products/inventions debuting at the fair was a new cereal call Shredded Wheat. It was almost universally panned at the fair and predicted to have a short life.

Other new things/people making their debut (or going mainstream) at the fair included AC electricity, spray paint, a young reporter named Theodore Dreiser who had yet to become a successful novelist, and the Ferris Wheel.

I'm reading "The Devil In The White City" about the 1893 Chicago World's Fair and the serial killer operating in Chicago at the time. Among the dozens (hundreds?) of new products/inventions debuting at the fair was a new cereal call Shredded Wheat. It was almost universally panned at the fair and predicted to have a short life.

Other new things/people making their debut (or going mainstream) at the fair included AC electricity, spray paint, a young reporter named Theodore Dreiser who had yet to become a successful novelist, and the Ferris Wheel.

And if my memory serves me right, ice cream in waffle cones as well.
Aside, the White City was made mostly of plaster. Some of the structures were so ornate, that it would have been wonderful if they had been made of marble. Then they would still be here today.
