Happy 85th birthday today to the musically omnipresent Asha Bhosle, the most famous singing voice in Indian music. She almost always stayed in the background, so you probably wouldn't recognize her face, but if you have listened to any Bollywood music, you have heard her.
Trivia bit: Cornershop's song "Brim Full of Asha" is in reference to Asha Bhosle.

Funny, I was thinking about this same thing this morning. I think that's why I like live music (in small venues). It returns the feeling of an event, something that won't be repeated.
