Random Music Thoughts

I paid too much for a FLAC copy of Electrelane's Rock It To The Moon ( it was £8.99), but it was still half of what Amazon wants for a CD.

It scratched an itch, because I wanted more than just an entry in my Spotify library.

Edit: I should explain it was 8.99 British pounds, which came out to $11.75, which is still less than the $22+ Amazon price for a CD.

After years as one of the top fiddlers in both session work and bands like The Flying Burrito Brothers and Country Gazette, opened the shop as a dream-come-true museum and music hall. On the bright side, some of his rare instruments were preserved by two fireproof safes.

Byron plans to recover and rebuild. :cheer:

According to DAC designer (and Bluegrass enthusiast) Mike Moffat, the difference between a fiddle and a violin is that "you can spill beer on the fiddle."

On This Day 1985:
"In 1985, "We Are the World," a song composed by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie and recorded by a series of high-profile music stars was released worldwide with the goal of generating funds for the USA for Africa charity. The song and related promotions eventually raised about $63 million. "

And you had forgotten :p

Nope. I remember it being such a big deal at the time. Nowadays, it wouldn't last 48 hours in the news cycle.

Pro tip: when you hear "Save Yourself" on the radio and say "This sounds really familiar", save yourself some time and don't search under Nine Inch Nails' discography. Instead, stab yourself Westward.
