[Eric Clapton] said he puts Rush in the same category as other pioneering blues greats who shaped his own blues playing. "At the time that I was growing up, there was a handful of people who'd made that kind of mark: Freddie King. Buddy Guy. B.B. King. Otis Rush. Magic Sam. So Otis: Fantastic. Great player," Clapton said.

Perhaps because the plant is the pokeweed?
Ah, thanks.
When saying “poke sallet” or “polk salad,” one is referring to the prepared (cooked) food dish utilizing the pokeweed leaves and not a “salad” made using raw pokeweed leaves, and as it turns out, this is a very important distinction to keep in mind for the purposes of toxicity and eating this food safely.

We go any deeper down this swamp patch path and we'll be headed over to Nick's cajun bistro.

Roy Hargrove, Grammy-winning jazz trumpeter, has left the stadium at age 49: https://www.npr.org/2018/11/03/6638...gjutWdOAoGG4cIv14a8M4Bvku_8wRysqArZ6zQq1GFDuo
As I transitioned into becoming a Jazz fan, Roy was one of the first musicians that struck a chord with me, and he continued to be one of my favorite up to this day. When I heard the news report of his death that morning, it was truly a jaw-dropping moment. I was driving the kids to school and was simply stunned. Selfishly, I can't believe I never got a chance to see him perform live.
:(

RIP Galt MacDermot. Who? Composer of the music for "Hair". I never saw a revival of "Hair", but absolutely loved the soundtrack album (although arguably dated now).

Also, RIP Joe Osborn, who died recently also. Who? Innovative bass player on the 5th Dimension version of the Galt MacDermot penned Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In, from the album "The Age of Aquarius" -- a must listen! Galt and Joe, eternally linked in vinyl.

Joe Osborn started as Ricky Nelson’s bassist and was frequently seen on the “Ozzie & Harriet” TV show. He also powered Johnny Rivers’ many fine live albums from the Whisky.
