RIP - Music related

Does anyone here remember Vera Lynn?
Did anyone here know she was still alive? (Sadly, I did not)

Singer Vera Lynn dies at age 103

Man, 103 - that's a life!

Yes and yes. :(

Our neighbors are Brits and they told me recently how much she is still revered in the UK.

So, who really won that fiddling battle?

I once asked a group at a party who they felt one, because I've always enjoyed the Devil's fiddling more. Was surprised how many people felt Johnny won. Then one guy noted (correctly) that the devil's fiddling was helped significantly by an awesome bassline (which was played by a demon)...so with that in mind, possibly Johnny did deserve that golden fiddle

^ The devil it is.

Well, in any event, the music world lost a truly great one.

So....

RIP Ennio Morricone.

So Nicky, what are you going to listen to?

Cinema Paradiso?

The Mission OST?

The Good, The Bad, and... Yo Mama (...Loves You)?

You guys obviously didn’t listen closely:

The devil bowed his head 'cause he knew that he'd been beat
And he laid that golden fiddle on the ground at johnny's feet

I like TDWDT and Uneasy Rider but that’s it for Charlie. His overweight faux Southern rocker shtick always seemed way out of place on country radio.

Thing I learned today:
I hadn't realized Morricone did the score for John Carpenter's The Thing

Shout out for his penultimate score - Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight - which won him an Oscar

Aside from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, I'd go with The Mission or with Once Upon A Time in the West

If anyone is aware of a good-to-great Morricone compilation, I'd be much obliged if you'd share your information.
