RIP - Music related

Evidently, John Farnsworth worked with John Prine, Cowboy Junkies, and Blue Rodeo, to name a few.

I started collecting motion picture soundtrack recordings relatively late in life. Very quickly I learned that the best releases appeared on
Intrada Records.

Somehow this label was able to locate, license and produce rare original underscores, most of which hadn't been heard since the films were exhibited. Doug Fake was the person most responsible for this treasure trove. Just as Michael Cuscuna and Charlie Lourie did with jazz on Mosaic Records, Doug combined a deep love of the music with an entrepreneurial spirit that enabled him to persuade reluctant or indifferent conglomerates to open their vaults. The whole fascinating story is in the link at the top of this post.

A couple of years ago, I invested in this gigantic box based on my love of his work. His catalog is far deeper than I suspected. Mayall was the Forrest Gump of British Blues, surrounding himself with a rotating cast of legendary musicians, many of whom he put on the map. Truly one of a kind. :(

I didn’t realize that Maurice also sang lead on “Little Darlin’” by the Gladiolas.

I didn't realize he was from NC. Also didn't recognize which song that was until I searched for it. Before my time, but I bet I've heard that a thousand times.
