Bettie Serveert - Palomine (1992)

Bettie Serveert - Palomine - album cover

First listen for me. Given the current indie age of female vocalists like Phoebe Bridgers, this sound seems quite ahead of its time.

And the cover is SOOOOOO Cute :)
I guess in retrospect, it's the same year as PJ Harvey's debut so maybe BOTH were ahead of their time ;) This one gets far less attention but still pretty good

Edit: learning! Led by female vocalist Carol Van Dijk, Bettie Serveert is not someone's name but rather Dutch for "Bettie Serves", or "Service to Bettie", which is the title of a book written by Dutch tennis player Betty Stöve, who made it to the Wimbledon Ladies Singles final in 1977
An interesting band name origin.
