Actually, we often put on our "World of Italo-Pop" collection or the "Music from Cinecita" discs when cooking up a big Italian feast.

Green pasta is a specialty of Emilia-Romagna in the north, so that clearly calls for poppy/dance music.
Italian opera is strictly for the southern cooking of Calabria and Apulia. But, you knew that, of course!
