Little Axe ~ The Wolf that House Built (1994)

Electric Blues, Dub, Trip Hop

From an RYM review:
As it says on the sticker on my album: _Skip McDonald and his tackhead mates collaborate with producer Adrian Sherwood to create the world's first ambient dub blues project!

It says that on my CD sticker, too. [One of the Tackhead mates is Talvin Singh, fwiw.]

Sade - The Remix Deluxe (1993)

During the decade from the late 80s to the late 90s, I was a fiend for tracking down CDs (earlier cassette tapes) like this with remixes/alternate versions/unreleased songs from my tip-top favorite artists. Sade had more than most, or maybe I just ended up buying more of hers than of others.

Every volume in this essential series is a revelation. Vocals by Alice Babs and Monica Zetterlund are in themselves sufficient cause to spin this collection but the instrumentals by Lars Gullin, Harry Arnold and a host of others less familiar are every bit as good.

:5.0: on the Sam-O-Meter. Listen for surprise appearances by Stan Getz and a young Quincy Jones.
