Bob Dylan / The Band - Before the Flood - album cover

And this in the news:

Intrigued by this, but 27 discs!? Sometimes extra content can be a little TOO much :)

Bah Bailo - Fula Flute (2002)

 Lost In The Vault

This album was a total mystery. Not only didn't I remember where it came from, I didn't have any idea what it was. :axo:

Turns out to be an exciting album of acoustic African instrumental music, led by the fula flute of the redoubtable Bah Bailo.

If this picture from SoundCloud is accurate, you certainly won't find me posting a harsh review here. :scared:

Fortunately, this album is easy to love.

According to Wiki:

The tambin (also sereendu, fulannu or Fula flute) is a diagonal diatonic flute without a bell, made from a conical vine, with three finger-holes and a rectangular embouchure with two wings on either side. It is considered the national instrument of the Fula people of West Africa and is similar in its sound and quality to the Middle Eastern ney.

I was thinking, this could go in the "You could learn a thing or two about music. So could I." thread.

Turns out, it might already be there.

Al Hibbler - Sings The Blues...Monday Every Day (1961)

Several; years after leaving Decca, Al signed with Frank Sinatra's Reprise label. They paired him with genius arranger Gerald Wilson for this sparkling album of blues songs with a jazz flair.

:5.0: on the Sam-O-Meter.
