Kenny Barron & Regina Carter - Freefall (2001)

 Lost In The Vault

After a couple of clunkers which I won't bore you with, I came up with this fine album. I wasn't familiar with Regina Carter before but she is a fine jazz violinist, less funky than Stuff Smith and less Frenchy than Stephane Grappelli. Perhaps the closest parallel is Ray Nance with Duke Ellington. Old pro Kenny Barron's piano takes on a new life with this inspired pairing, which covers a lot of stylistic ground from tango to hard bop.

:5.0: on the Sam-O-Meter.

Bobby Brown - Don't Be Cruel (1988)

According to Discogs, they have 999 copies for sale at prices from 32 cents to $1,000. One French seller is asking 299.97 euros for the LP version with this message:

"Its price is high to allow a true fan to find the disc they have been missing for years. Everything has a price that's why offers or messages will be studied and potentially accepted if the offer is worth it. Otherwise between almost nothing and the disc I keep the disc."

With this philosophy, I'm not sure that selling records is the ideal career choice. :meh:

Vinyl Spin of the Day.

You say I got the title wrong, it should be simply The Man? :elisabs:

Au contraire, mon frere. Take a gander at the label:
