Actually it’s hardpore cornography.^ is that hardcore or hardcorn?
Actually it’s hardpore cornography.
Is that your mash-up?That's my jam!
It is exactly what it looks like: 100% undiluted cheese given some reasonable dimensions through somber minor key treatments.
The title track earns the *** 1/2 easily, all on its own. It's nearly kind of brilliant. You WANT to laugh, you THINK you should laugh, buuuuut... it's just too affecting and good somehow.
Elsewhere we get accordions on the (deftly handled) "Let's Hear It For The Boy", and a lot of marblemouthed vocals all around, which are actually a plus when you're dealing w/ lyrics as hackneyed and bad as these.
It runs out of steam on Side B, but then, so did the original.
So? A bad joke, delivered w/ a straight face, and well.
Patty Duke - Don't Just Stand There (1965)
![]()
"Patty's first album ever!" The title song is very respectable teen angst pop ala Lesley Gore. The rest, unfortunately, doesn't rise to that level. Her quavering cover of "Downtown" may have inspired Mrs. Miller.![]()
Patty was 19 when this album came out. Her eponymous TV series had already been a hit for 2 years. Wiki notes:She just looks like a little girl. Is she 9 or 19? could be asked.
A musical phenom, if ever there was one!Mrs. Miller.![]()
If she couldn't hit the note, it couldn't be hit.A musical phenom, if ever there was one!
When she hit a note, it stayed hit.If she couldn't hit the note, it couldn't be hit.
