It's a big cover, but the West is a big place, too.
I really wanted to like this compilation, and I do overall. There are some good songs and some mediocre songs.
What really bugs me, though, is the cover and title. You see, it's definitely out West.
The problem is, the only place that you would see a sign with a background of mountains telling you that Austin is 495 miles away and San Antonio is 576 miles away is on Interstate 10. You would be in New Mexico, not far from El Paso, and you would be heading East.
Do you now understand why I am having a difficult time appreciating this CD? Damn you, Starbucks! Don't do this to me.

Wendel has grown on me over the past few years, and I think I'm at the point where I blind buy any new album by him. And after seeing him live (and loving the show) a couple of months ago, I was very eager to get this EP. It has guests on each song, sometimes singers, sometimes musician guests. Mixed results but not mixed bad/good. More like so-so/very good.
