These are Trane's earliest available recordings, made in Hawaii when he was 20 years old. This album also includes a rare 1954 set with Johnny Hodges.

Now, that would be a creamy hodge-podge supreme.

I am sorry to read that. Do you think it could be a grower?

This was much better than expected. In fact, I might need to purchase it.

I have never listened to CBP, even though you seem to be a fan.

The Beck album is so awful, I doubt that very much.

CBP are great. I recommend you check out I, Vigilante.

Joe Holiday - Mambo Jazz (rec. 1951-52-53-54, comp. 1991)

This collection is a real sleeper. Joe (ne Joe Befumo) was a talented tenor man with an affinity for Cuban rhythm. Prestige recorded him frequently with the cream of like-minded NYC jazzers, including Max Roach, Billy Taylor and Machito. The 23 songs here originally came out on 5 rare 10" LP's.
