Skip Martin - The Music From "Mike Hammer" (TV soundtrack 1959)
It's not Peter Gunn, but then what is?
I like the label "Sound of Violence" in the upper right of the cover. Today, RCA would have added a disclaimer that "no musicians were harmed during the making of this album".
Animal Collective - Meriweather Post Pavilion (2009)
So, how's the critic's #1 album of the year choice sound 8 years later - sonically lush and really kind of boring. How anything drawing upon the Beach Boys, psychedelia and others 60s influences (Byrds, Hollies) can amount to something so bland astounds me.
