What's For Dinner?

Going to grill up a bisteca Toscana tonight. I have to pack it with salt now so it can "brine" for a few hours. Then it will be rinsed, dried, and rubbed with black pepper and bay leaf powder and grilled over wood coals with bay wood tossed in for more flavor. Nice and charred on the outside and rare-pink on the inside. Tomato salad and corn on the cob on the side.

Just came off the grill. Now I tented it and it will need to sit for 20-30 minutes before slicing. Tomato salad and corn on the cob are ready to go.

Stir-fry tonight!: chicken and cabbage with fresh ramen noodles, onion, carrot, bean sprouts, garlic, and ginger with a hoisin and crispy chili sauce. Hot, hot, hot!

Are you going to listen to some Buster Poindexter for your evening entertainment?

I just had some Domino's pizza that will do for my dinner.

It was very bland and tasteless. Yuck.
When I was in college in the 80s, Dominos made decent pizza. The last time I ordered it was a few years ago when I was out in the field doing work. It was terrible. I ate two slices and left the rest for the trash. Never again.

Domino's Pizza seems to be the equivalent of doughnuts for me.

It just sits in my intestines and screams "Let me out!" until I do it, whether I want to be in the bathroom for 20 minutes or not.

I am going to make breaded, chicken cutlets with Hunter's Sauce with green peppercorns for dinner tonight. Sides of pappardelle and green beans. We also made a Swiss plum tart with frangipane for dessert. I might just skip dinner and go straight for dessert.

That's no watery tart!

I dated a plum tart, once. Or, was that, I plumbed a tart date? I just don't remember any more.

We made a Swiss dish called Capuns last night. It's a thick spaetzle batter that is mixed with lots of fresh herbs and finely diced dried sausage which is then wrapped into little packs in chard leaves, sauteed, then simmered in cream and broth. Garnished with bacon, parmesan, and a few cherry tomatoes from the yard.
