Friday: so time to randomly generate a year from 1960-2017 for our next album picker, LPFreak. Monday, he will post our next album to listen collectively
LPFreak's year will be:
1971
Remember, selectors should feel free to pick rare albums or well-worn classics, any genre (pop, rock, soul, jazz, electronic) - a favorite of yours that you'd like others to play and discuss.

One of the better years, ever. Lean into the experience and don't freak, lpfreak.
Funny, you never struck me as somebody who needed any assistance with finding musical selections.Anxiously awaiting LPFreak’s Monday pick
Need something to listen to tomorrow

Feel free to add earlier decades when it is my turn. I'm not saying that I won't do something from 1960-2017, but there was some awfully good music put out 1930-1960 as well.A day late but time to randomly generate a year from 1960-2017

A person could use a compilation CD of works that were recorded prior to that onset year; could they not? This would be the manner in which most classical music is known to us in this day, aside from concerts.Indeed, love the earlier decades, but chose these years because the concept of the album/Long player (which started around 1955) was in full force. I don’t mind going to 1955, but prior to that, it’s really smaller collections of singles or books of 78’s. In addition, didn’t want to make it harder for folks who really don’t listen to that far back. Figured most could find an album they know and love from 1960 onward
Wait a sec. So are you saying I'm the only person that get sheet music and plays classical music out myself? In other words, you're saying it's available on vinyl LPs and CDs now? Man.This would be the manner in which most classical music is known to us in this day, aside from concerts.

Apropos of nothing at all, does anybody know where I can sell some kettle drums, harpsichords, and a few viola da gambas? If you buy all 4 of the violas, I will throw in a sackbut and two shawns for free.
Good advice. Duly noted! You can always try Craigslist, though be sure to meet in the lobby of a police station so no one rips you off.
