Random Food Thoughts

Yesterday afternoon we made a Polish kugiel. It's a loaf of finely grated potatoes, fried onions and kielbasa, garlic, marjoram, and eggs which is baked. Then you let it set overnight in the fridge. You can eat it cold or warmed to room temp. Going to have a slice for breakfast today. It's served with a dollop of sour cream that is mixed with grated horseradish. I'll have to dig some up when the sun comes up.

Not really about food, but it is about cooking.
I would never go back to electric stoves. A friend of ours bought a portable, induction, single burner for his cabin up in NH while he was building it. He loved it so much, he got a six-burner induction stove for the kitchen.

Did you have to cover it and take back roads to smuggle it into RI?
Of course! Why do you think the trip took so long?
I have no idea why you can't buy it in RI. Other raw milk cheeses from Switzerland are readily available. It's a mystery to me.
Well, at least I can drive up to MA to buy it when it's available.
